Check whether the "Step" button is enabled (small button on the top left of the playlist). If it is, disable it and it should return to normal.

you mean that it's just too small and you mess it up? if this happens hit ctrl z immediately and try again.

click mouse right and use the blue rubber band to circle around that automation dot.

to go back just double click right
